Meet Our Team
Dr. Kevin Dale Schramm: Dr. Kevin Schramm was born and raised in Cedar City, Utah. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology/Zoology from Southern Utah University in 1992 before pursuing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University, graduating in 1997. In 2006, he further advanced his training by completing the CSU Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians course. Dr. Schramm’s professional interests include surgery, dentistry, preventive care, and pain management. His journey in veterinary medicine began with a mobile practice operated out of the back of a pickup truck, which has since grown into the established and trusted clinic known as Paws 'N Claws. While attending CSU, Kevin met his future wife and classmate, Dr. Adrienne Schramm. The couple made Fort Collins their home and have been proudly serving the community since 1997. They now reside in Wellington, Colorado. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Schramm enjoys spending time in the great outdoors camping, fishing, hunting, and exploring motorsports. Kevin is also a proud father and grandfather, he and Adrienne share a blended and busy household with their children and a variety of pets, including a Ball Python named Reggie, a turtle named Sandy, a Chocolate Lab named Dutch, a Black Lab named Billy, and a collection of fish. Dr. Adrienne Schramm: Dr. Adrienne Schramm was born and raised in California’s Bay Area. An early academic achiever, she earned an Associate of Arts degree while still in high school, graduating in 1981. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of California, Riverside in 1983, followed by both a Bachelor and Master of Music in Voice Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 1988 and 1990, respectively. After a successful journey in the arts, Dr. Schramm made a bold career change to pursue her passion for animal health. She entered the Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1993 and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1997. Outside the clinic, she enjoys music, photography, karate, and cherishes time spent with her family.
Dr. Elton West: We’re thrilled to officially welcome Dr. Elton West back to the Paws N' Claws Veterinary Clinic team! Many of you may recognize Dr. West from his years with us as a dedicated veterinary technician. Now, we’re proud to have him return in a new role as a veterinarian! Originally from New Mexico, Dr. West has called northern Colorado home for the past 13 years. He and his wife, Nicole, are proud parents of three wonderful children. While he’s passionate about caring for all animals but he has a special soft spot for small breed dogs. Dr. West is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to every patient he sees. Outside the clinic, he enjoys hiking, camping, hosting backyard cookouts with neighbors, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He shares his home with two beloved dogs: Genny, a St. Bernard mix, and Tony, a Chihuahua. Dr. West is excited to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new ones, both human and furry. Our Staff Receptionists Diana: Diana joined our team in January 2024, not knowing she'd completely fall in love with the job, but that’s exactly what happened! She thrives on connecting with our amazing clients and their furry companions, and she brings a big heart, great energy, and just the right touch of magic to everything she does. When she's off the clock, Diana’s world is just as vibrant! She’s a tarot card enthusiast, a lifelong horse girl, and a proud pet parent to two lovely ladies: Billie, a Shepherd/Border Collie mix, and Sen, a Snow Tiger Siamese. Kaitlyn: Kaitlyn moved to Fort Collins to attend Colorado State University, where she earned a degree in Equine Science and is currently pursuing a Master's in Animal Science focused on Equine Behavior and Welfare. She has two pets: a rescued Australian Shepherd/Border Collie named Jack, and a mustang mare named Floofy. Outside of work and school, she enjoys hiking, horseback riding, reading, paddle boarding, running, and spending time with Jack and Floofy.
